Mr C Y Leung graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic and Bristol Polytechnic
UK. He holds Honorary Doctorate degrees conferred by four universities in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong
and Shandong.
Since the late 1970s, Mr Leung had participated in the land and housing reforms in China and helped
prepare the first land sale in the Mainland after China's constitution was amended in 1988.
Between 1984 and 1997, Mr Leung held senior positions in the entire political transition to the
establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Between 1997 and 2011, Mr Leung was a member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong and was the Convenor of
the non-official members between 1999 and 2011.
In March, 2012, Mr Leung was elected the fourth-term Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region. Since March 2017, he has been a Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the
Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
Currently he is the Chairman of several not-for-profit NGO’s established in Hong Kong, including the Bay
Area Hong Kong Centre, Belt and Road Hong Kong Centre and the GX Foundation.
In 2022, he founded the Minxin Hong Kong School (Guangzhou, Nansha) and serves as the Chairman of the
School board.

President Samia Suluhu Hassan became the sixth President of the United
Republic of Tanzania in March 2021, following the death of President John Magufuli. She served as Vice
President of Tanzania from 2015.
Under her leadership as President, the government of Tanzania has been proactively engaging with
multilateral and bilateral partners in the region and around the world. She has also been actively pushing
the climate agenda.
Under President Samia's leadership, the role of the private sector as an engine of growth has been given
renewed emphasis with increased attention to addressing major constraints on private investment. The
Government recently announced the removal of barriers to access to education, including those that had
prevented pregnant girls and young mothers from attending formal school, a reflection of the Government’s
commitment to supporting girls and young women.
Katrín Jakobsdóttir

Katrín Jakobsdóttir has served as the Prime Minister of Iceland since
November 2017 and is Iceland’s second woman to hold that position.
She served as Minister of Education, Science and Culture and Minister of Nordic Cooperation 2009-2013.
Jakobsdóttir is the Chairman of the Left-Green Movement, a role she has held since 2013, having served as
Deputy Chairman 2003-2013. Jakobsdóttir has been Member of Althingi for the Reykjavík North Constituency
since 2007. She also serves as the Chair of the Council of Women World Leaders.
Born in Reykjavík on 1 February 1976, Jakobsdóttir and her husband, Gunnar Sigvaldason, have three sons.
Jakobsdóttir holds a master‘s degree in Icelandic Literature and a bachelor‘s degree with a major in
Icelandic and minor in French from the University of Iceland. She did her Masters dissertation on the work
of popular Icelandic crime writer Arnaldur Indriðason.
Before being elected to parliament Jakobsdóttir worked in the media, as a publishing editor and as teacher
in secondary school and courses at the Continuing Education Institute at the University of Iceland.
Mariam H. Mwinyi
First Lady of the 8th President of Zanzibar

Her Excellency Mariam Mwinyi is the First Lady of Zanzibar and the Founder
and Chair of Zanzibar Maisha Bora Foundation (ZMBF), a non-profit making organization that envisions
improving the quality of life for Zanzibaris. She is married to Excellency Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, the
President of Zanzibar, and Chairman of Revolutionary Council.
Inspired by her 20 years’ experience in public health, she founded ZMBF in July 2021 to raise awareness,
mobilize public participation, support, and influence policies towards improvement of the lives of women,
children, and youth in Zanzibar. As First lady, Mariam serves as a role model for women and young people
in many aspects. She is identified as a champion of socio-economic empowerment, maternal and children
health, a formidable voice against rampant Child and Adolescents Sexual Abuse and Gender Based Violence in
Zanzibar.
Madam Mariam is an advocate for nutrition and physical activity which has so far spiced up lifestyle
changes amongst women, men and young people in Zanzibar. She previously worked with the National Health
Insurance Fund (NHIF) and served as a Board Member of the Marie Stopes Tanzania, a Non-profit organization
for maternal, child and reproductive health. She is an alumna of the Universities of Birmingham and
Manchester of United Kingdom, where she graduated with Master’s degrees in health Economics; and Education
for Primary Health Care, respectively.
Beate Trankmann
Resident Representative of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in
China
Ms. Beate Trankmann took up her post as UNDP Resident Representative for
China in October 2019.
Ms. Trankmann has had a diverse career with UNDP since the late 1990s, particularly in the Asia-Pacific
region. Most recently she served as United Nations Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative
for Mongolia from August 2015 to September 2019. She also served as the UNDP Country Director in Indonesia
(2010-2015); Deputy Resident Representative in charge of Programme in Sri Lanka (2005-2010); Assistant
Resident Representative responsible for democratic governance in Cambodia (2002-2005); and programme
officer in China (1999-2002) and Geneva (1998-99). Prior to joining UNDP, Ms. Trankmann was a research
fellow at the European Institute for Asian Studies in Brussels, advising European Union institutions on
EU-Asia relations.
Educated in France, China (Taiwan) and Germany, Ms. Trankmann holds a master’s degree in political science
and a bachelor’s degree in China studies, both University of Hamburg.
Pansy Ho

Ms. Ho is an outstanding businesswoman and has made many contributions to
the business and women's sectors in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, as well as to the tourism
industry over the years. She is currently the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese
People's Political Consultative Conference, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and
Commerce, Executive Committee member of the All-China Women's Federation and Chairperson of the Hong Kong
Federation of Women's Association. Ms. Ho is devoted to promoting the understanding of the Country among
different sectors after the reunification to the motherland of Hong Kong and Macau. She is keen to reflect
the opinions from women prospective to the government through various community service positions.
Ms. Ho is helming a number of listed conglomerate in Hong Kong and Macau. She is the Group Executive
Chairman and Managing Director of Shun Tak Group, the Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China
Holdings Limited, and the Deputy Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Phoenix Media Investments
(Holdings) Limited.
As a veteran of the travel industry, Ms. Ho serves on a number of international organisations, including
Vice Chairman of the World Tourism Alliance and Vice Chairman of the International Mountain Tourism
Alliance. She is also the Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Global Tourism Economy Forum.
Nurul Izzah Anwar

Nurul Izzah Anwar currently co-heads the Secretariat for the Advisory
Committee to Finance Minister (ACFIN) that includes overseeing the preparation of the policy
recommendations relating to subsidies and social protection, government-owned entities, government revenue
and national debt. She was formerly Member of Parliament for Permatang Pauh from the People’s Justice
Party (KEADILAN). She currently serves as Vice President of KEADILAN. She previously served on the Public
Accounts Committee and was KEADILAN Spokesperson for the Ministry of Women, Family, and Community
Development.
Some of her initiatives as MP for Permatang Pauh include Program ROSE in collaboration with Universiti
Malaya (a cervical cancer screening program for underserved women based at the University of Malaya
Medical Centre), the Permatang Pauh Women’s Project (upskilling B40 women), and the 2021 Permatang Pauh
Multidimensional Poverty Study headed by Professor Fatimah Kari, a forerunning expert in Malaysian
multidimensional poverty.
Nurul Izzah earned her Masters’ Degree from the School for Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins

Ma Ai-Jeng (Jenny)

Ma Ai-Jeng (Jenny) was born in Henan in 1941. She started her own business
and became successful in fields such as real estate, construction, trade, agriculture, and fisheries, with
branch offices in seven countries. She focuses on women's empowerment and founded two Rotary clubs - the
Fu-Jung Rotary Club and the Hwa-Lee Rotary Club - as well as the Taiwan Women's Entrepreneurs Association,
which brings together over 300 outstanding female leaders from various industries. She also established
the Huali Caring Women Association. She was elected as one of the Top Ten Outstanding Young Women and Top
Ten Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs.
Her high-vote election as the eighth Chairman of the Council for Industrial & Commercial Development,
breaking the tradition of men holding the position for decades in the four major business associations in
Taiwan. She founded the Taiwan Agriculture and Fishery producing-marketing, which brings together
high-tech talents and invest and cooperate in mainland China.
Her greatest honor was being received twice by Chairman Jiang Zemin in 1993 and 1999, and by Vice Chairman
Hu Jintao in 2000. In 2009, she organized the Cross-Strait Women Entrepreneurs Economic and Trade Forum,
attended by women from various provinces and the chairwoman of the All-China Women's Federation, marking
the first large-scale meeting of women across the Taiwan Strait in several decades, so that they can
exchange ideas and support each other.
Alexandra Munroe

Alexandra Munroe, Ph.D., is a pioneering authority on modern and
contemporary Asian art and transnational art studies. She is Senior Curator at Large, Global Arts, Solomon
R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation, where she also led the Guggenheim's Asian Art Initiative since its
founding in 2006. Dr. Munroe is recognized for her pioneering scholarship on artists Yoko Ono, Cai Guo
Qiang, Daido Moriyama, Yayoi Kusama, Lee Ufan, Mu Xin, among others, and for bringing such historic
avant-garde movements as Gutai, Mono-ha, Japanese otaku culture, and Chinese conceptual art to
international attention. She received the 2017 Japan Foundation Award and the 2018 Commissioner for
Cultural Affairs Award, both bestowed by the government of Japan in recognition of her contributions to
Japanese art history. In 2017, Munroe was lead curator of the Guggenheim’s exhibition, Art and China after
1989: Theater of the World, which was lauded as one of the most influential exhibitions of the decade.
Liz Ortiguera

Liz is a global citizen and versatile business plus industry leader with
over three decades of experience in pharmaceuticals, travel, tech, and education. Her career has gone
through several transformations. She started as a scientist/engineer in pharma and conducted cancer
research. Liz then embarked on an 18-year career with American Express in Asia-Pacific and led their
Travel Network across 28 countries for 10 years. She then transformed her career again to focus on
innovation and working with several start-ups in travel, lifestyle services and edtech. More recently, Liz
became the first woman CEO of the largest travel industry association for Asia and is now the World Travel
and Tourism Council's first Managing Director for the Asia-Pacific region.
Liz is an alumni of four universities, including Stanford and Columbia and her expertise extends across
multiple disciplines. During her career, received prestigious awards, such as the American Express Kim
Vismale Leadership Award and a full MBA scholarship at Merck.
Beyond her professional achievements, Liz actively engages in philanthropy, supporting projects like a
charity hospitality school in Cambodia and the build of a village community in the Philippines. She is
dedicated to mentorship and empowering women, launching Stanford Business School's first Women's Circles
group in Asia- Pacific.

Karmela Palma

Karmela is the Head of QPWN and the Lead of the QPWN Mentoring Group – a

establishing mentoring and coaching programs. She is also a Founding Member and Mentoring Head of IAM
Filipina, a non-profit organization in Qatar supporting the development of Filipinas in leadership and
management roles, endorsed by the Philippine Embassy in Qatar.

Suhanya Raffel
Museum Director of M+
Suhanya Raffel was appointed Museum Director of M+ Hong Kong in 2019 after
she joined as Executive Director in 2016. She leads M+ and oversees all museum activities, including
acquisitions, programming, collections care, development, research, institutional collaborations, and
museum operations. Ms. Raffel has led the museum’s mission, broadening its international reach and
championing its deep connection with its local community.
Prior to joining M+, she was the Deputy Director and Director of Collections at the Art Gallery of New
South Wales, Sydney, Australia (2013 – 2016), and held many senior curatorial positions at Queensland Art
Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane, Australia (1994 – 2013).
Ms. Raffel is the President of CIMAM, the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern
Art (2023 – 2025) and has served on the CIMAM Board for 6 years (2016 – 2022). She is also a member of the
Bizot Group (2021 ongoing) and a Trustee of the Geoffrey Bawa Trust and the Lunuganga Trust, Sri Lanka

During her political career, Su Heng served as the Deputy Secretary-General
of the New Party and actively participated in various political activities, striving to promote the

elections, embarking on the campaign trail. In 2022, she ran as an independent candidate for the Da'an and

She founded Yeli Media on the YouTube platform, representing one of the few female political commentators
